Millions of people struggle everyday to find emotional wellness. They feel sad or anxious for no reason. Some description of imagesymptoms of depression can include persistent sadness for more than 2 weeks. You may notice that you are uninterested in activities that you once enjoyed. You may notice that you are sleeping more or less that normal. It can cause weight loss or gain or you may find that you are unusually angry.

You may feel powerless and that contributes even more to the feelings of sadness, anxiousness, hopelessness. Your friends and family often don't understand. You feel as if you are tolerated. They often tell you to just cheer up it will get better. But you know differently. I myself have struggled with depression since my late teens.

Dealing with depression is more than just fixing a chemical imbalance. To permanently remove it from your life you must look at it from a perspective of body mind and soul. You must give attention to all three of these areas to achieve wholeness. I have been fortunate in the last several years to work through a lot of personal development to change my behavior that was leading me into those bouts. I have discovered a much healthier way to live and natural supplements that provide better nutritional support, which allows me to handle stress better and maintain a more stable chemical, emotional and spiritual balance.

There are many causes for depression. It can be a recent trauma, an illness, a chemical imbalance, stress.

There are many natural remedies that you can do at home to feel better and give your body a holistic boost to better health and wellness.

Exercise

One of the most natural treatments and easiest to do is regular exercise. Exercise raises your seratonin levels. Seratonin is the chemical in your brain that regulates your mood. When this chemical is out of whack it effects your emotional wellness in every way, your sex drive and your sleep patterns.

The side effect of exercise is that your whole body is healthier and your clothes fit better, both of which contribute to a greater sense of well-being. There are many forms of exercise to many different needs. Yoga, Walking, Weight lifting are just a few. You don't have to go to a gym for many of these. Talk Therapy

Talk Therapy is a technique that you can practice with a trusted friend that can begin to help you get some clarity around what is going on for you. It can provide a wonderful outlet for pent up feelings of sadness, anger and confusion that might be contributing to your depression and lack of emotional wellness. You were not designed to bear your burdens alone and simply sharing these things with a trusted friend can lift your spirits and begin to help you find our way out of the tunnel. If you don't feel that you have anyone close to you that you can talk to then a professional therapist or life coach is a great way to go. Life coaches not only help you see what is going on with you and talk your way through it. They are professionally trained to teach you new ways and skills for handling things in your life that may be a trigger for your depression. If finances are an issue there are many public health programs that can help you find a therapist that will fit within your budget. You can also seek help from your pastor or church. They will often have counseling services available.

Nutritional Support

Nutrional Support and Herbal Remedies are also a great way to give your body what it needs to regulate your hormones and chemical balance. Glyco-nutrients is a great basic way to start nutritionally supporting your depression symptoms.

Start a gratitude journal. Take a few minutes every day first thing in the morning or even better before you go to bed at night and list several things that you are grateful for. If you go to bed at night with those thoughts at the forefront of your mind your sub-conscience will work on that all night. It will begin to bring up your seratonin and help in finding that sense of well-being again. I know this sounds like a simple thing but it is known to be very powerful. Even more powerful than that, is to find a Gratitude buddy that you can share your gratitude lists with every day. This increases the power of the positive energies around tenfold. The mind is a powerful thing and will begin to create more positive energy around you as you focus more and more on positive things thus naturally lifting your depression.

Get around people. When you are depressed it is easy to want to stay home and avoid people. But talking to others, having a cup of coffee with a friend or just getting around others who are enjoying life can help to lift your spirits and increase your seratonin levels.

Alternative Therapies

There are other techniques that you can use to reprogram your mind and your neuro-pathways. These techniques are simple to learn and are very powerful in achieving emotional wellness.

EFT stands for "Emotional Freedom Techniques". It is a process where you use tapping on individual energy meridian points to reset your mind/body energies to more positive balance. Bottom line is to DO something. You don't have to be a victim to this disease as there are many forms of support available today. There are many other natural non-invasive therapies for depression.
