Spiritual Wellness is finding the meaning and purpose in your life. While individuals all have their own views of spirituality, it is generally thought to be a search for direction and awareness.

Becoming spiritually well is lifelong process of creating a state of harmony within oneself. The wellness that we experience within gives us the ability to influence the world around us in a meaningful and positive way. We discover what our values and beliefs are and learn to become tolerant of the beliefs and values of others.

Having spiritual wellness may or may not be based on a belief in a power greater than ourselves. Spirituality is a very personal journey. As we search for our purpose in life, we are creating a foundation for taking healthy and helpful action. We are able to remain true to ourselves.

Some of the principles of nourishing your spirit are compassion, non-judgment, selflessness, the capacity for love, discipline, joy and conscientiousness, forgiveness. These actions make us more peaceful and give us a greater sense of fulfillment. We transcend ourselves and add purpose and meaning to the lives others.

Prayer, Meditation, affirmations and other spiritual practices can help to connect you with your higher power or belief system. Below are some insights into achieving spiritual wellness:

Share your values and count your blessing.

You can’t have a helathy spirit without physical, emotional, environmental social and intellectual wellness too. It’s a package deal.

Listen to your inner voice. Pay attention to your feelings, emotions and thoughts and trust you intuition.

Be forgiving and grateful.

We have a choice about how we can feel about whatever is going on in our lives.

Peace is not something you can force on anything or anyone- much less upon one's own mind.

Find what brings you inner tranquility and calmness. And by all means, take the time to do it!
