In this day and age you are constantly inundated with information, stress, environmental toxins and processed foods. Your life is so busy that you have trouble finding ways to address all areas of your health and keeping a balanced and holistic outlook for your life and wellness.

There are so many ways to address wellness today. I have provided a quick and easy reference to many options for you in staying healthy. This way you can get an brief overview of what is out there for you and only look further into the ones that interest you.

For Your body

When you think about health for your body I'm sure that two of the things that come to mind first are what you eat and what your body looks like. We worry about how we look in our clothes and if what we are eating is good for us. Many of you have no time in your day to think about healthier choices so we just eat what is given to us by the food industry without much thought to what is in your food and how it affects your body.

However, because our lives are so stressed and fast paced our bodies need proper nutrition from food that is a close to it's natural state. That is pretty hard to find in your local fast food restaurant.

I recently read that today we make as many decisions in a day as were once made in an entire year. No wonder you're tired!

We choose foods that are quick and easy, but are highly processed with adds chemicals and preservatives that our bodies were never designed to deal with. We are inundated daily with labels that are screaming that they are healthy, low fat or will help you lose weight, however if you were to turn them over and read the labels I doubt you would recognize many of the ingredients.

Obesity rates are increasing every year along with an increase in many diseases related to obesity.

Heart disease in on the rise in both men and women and now even in children. It is the number one killer in women over all types of cancers.

We are so busy that we don't have time to exercise or take in fresh air. Many of you are not sleeping well or enough.

So what can we do!!

There are many options available that support your body, mind and spirit.

For your body you must look at what kinds of food you are choosing. You should choose organic as often as possible and whole foods as well. Fruits, vegetable and whole grains. Learn to read labels. If it doesn't say "whole grain" in the ingredients you should probably be suspicious.

I once heard it said that if the food wasn't around 10 thousand years ago you probably shouldn't eat it. There are some very good companies out there where you can get some great food supplements(glyconutrients) and snacks that you can carry with you so you are not as tempted to go for the processed foods.

You must also supplement vitamins and mineralssince due to modern farming practices, toxins in our soils and depleted soil quality, we no longer get the same amount of nutrient in our diet as we once did. Eating 2 peaches in 1951 provided a full daily requirement of Vitamin A now you would have to eat 53 peaches to get the same amount of vitamin A. For more information on food quality today (click here). Be sure to choose supplements that are based on whole food sources. Synthetic vitamins and supplements are not recognized by the body and therefore show a low absorption rate. Therefore you are wasting your money.

For Your Mind

For your mind, there are many great sources out there. We have become a society who is numb. We work all day and watch TV all night. We let the TV tell us what to think, what to wear and how to be.

Turn off the TV!

Read a book. Read something that will challenge your mind to grow and think and improve yourself. Challenge yourself to description of image

read just 10 pages today of a great life changing book such as "Think and Grow Rich" By Napolean Hill, "How to win friends and Influence People" by Andrew Carnegie. And many, many more.

Just 10 pages a day of books of this quality will change your life dramatically in a year.

Play a game with your kids. A great game that can also be a college class in finance is Robert Kiyosaki's "Cash Flow". this a great to improve you understanding of finance and give your kids and opportunity to grow up with a great understanding of real life finance.

Go for a leisurely walk with your spouse. It is great way to relax, renew and connect thus improving your relationship and your mental and physical health.

Take a personal or self development seminar If you've ever wondered if this is all there is, take a seminar that could reveal to you areas in your life that are holding you back from your full potential. Take a Yoga class. Yoga is good for your body while at the same time helping you to center and clear your mind, providing more energy and vitality.

Tape positive affirmations to yourself on your bathroom mirror Repeat them 10 times while you are brushing your teeth, shaving or putting on your makeup.

A great website for this is Vital Affirmations. Here you can find a virtual deck of affirmations cards. Shuffle and see what comes up. Then repeat this to yourself often all day long.

There are many ways to reduce stress and improve relationships with yourself and those around you.
